Among other coastal areas, Tanjungpakis in Karawang holds great potential but is highly vulnerable to abrasion.

On Saturday, 12 July 2025, Sompo Insurance Indonesia together with Sompo Peduli volunteers and alumni of the NGO Internship Students program from the Sompo Environment Foundation, we are taking action to restore the environmental ecosystem through a mangrove planting initiative in this area.

According to Antara, over the past 30 years, approximately 69.28 hectares of land in the coastal area of Tanjungpakis Village have been severely affected by abrasion.

As part of Sompo’s long-term commitment to environmental sustainability, Sompo Insurance Indonesia aims not only to protect the coastline, but also to directly support the livelihoods of farmers and surrounding communities.
